NUCLEUS INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
The following forms the basic of the training program
specifically constructed for, what we term, our Trainee
Nucleus Instructor’s. The Nucleus Instructor is
not to be confused with the term Apprentice Instructor.
A Trainee Nucleus Instructor is an individual who has
spent time and effort working their way up through the
grading system within the following systems; Lumpat Harimau,
Si Machan, Seterelak, Silat Jawa Barat, Setia Hati Teratai,
Palero Beringin Sacti, and is also a direct descendant
of Maha Guru Richard Crabbe-de Bordes. This individual
would have been specially selected to help propagate the
above stated arts as handed down to us from antiquity
via the Hanafi family.
A selection student of Maha Guru
Richard Crabbe-de Bordes is by know means obligated to
partake in this prescribe method of development how ever,
once a commitment has been made minimum term, three year
program will be required.
The core program has been coded
to protect its value from unwarranted use by persons unknown
to the De Bordes Foundation of combat Science, eminent
persons, custodians and the Hanafi family.

PROGRAM
The above stated training process is spread over a three
year program at the end of which an individual will be
qualified to teach at a standard that meets the requirements
of the Foundation
LEARNING OPTIONS
2 x 2 hour sessions per month x 10 months = 40 hours per
year
1 x 4 hour session per month x 12 months = 40 hours per
year
Fees
Annual fees = $600 a year
-INSTRUCTORSHIP
COURSES-
Associate Instructors are required to attend a minimum
of two seminars or workshops at designated locations nominated
by the Foundation in the year and will organize two workshops
at their respective schools for visiting foundation appointed
instructors or Chief Instructor/Founder.
-SENIOR
INSTRUCTORSHIP-
This program runs for a total of ten years. Details can
be obtained from the student’s entry and support
division or head of research.
-CHIEF INSTRUCTORSHIP-
This is strictly by recommendation after years of research
and instruction by a panel of eminent Persons.

the foundation.
INSTRUCTORSHIP/MEMBER
GROUP REQUIREMENT
The following details form the pre requisite standards that
need to be met and maintained to be recognised as an instructor
and head of a member group of the De Bordes Foundation of
Combat Science.
The De Bordes Foundation
of Combat Science recognise that situations beyond individual
control may, from time to time, prevent the principal/instructor
from meeting the foundation’s
basic requirements. This, is by no means grounds for exclusion,
however the De Bordes Foundation of Combat Science, reserves
the right to review member group structure and suspend membership
while issues are addressed and rectified.
• Member Group must consist of at least ten active
students, inclusive of the instructor/principal.
• A standardized look,
in terms of student attire will be required.
• Within the first six months of the group’s
existence, the principal must assign and register, at least
one assistant instructor. This individual will be expected
to participate in training programs, set out by the foundation.
• The principal is expected
to maintain an accurate register, consisting of student
names and attendance records.
• 75% attendance will be required
of all member group students, for them to become eligible
for grading or assessment.
• A member group is allowed
to use the De Bordes Foundation of Combat Science name or
logo in its marketing/advertising campaign, however this
is only possible with the prior authorization of the foundation.
• The De Bordes Foundation
of Combat Science will provide a link from its web site
to a member group web site, with the foundation logo clearly
visible on the home page, is used.
The above is subject to alteration, from time to time.
All principals will be notified and updated if and when
any changes take place.
The following forms some of the basic requirements of a
member group and serves as a guide line for club/member
group formation.Membership-
Individual –
The De Bordes Foundation will require copies of all completed
membership documentation. This requirement is only as a
means of maintaining our records and any information collected
will never knowingly be shared with any third party.Member Group –
A certificate of group membership will be awarded to qualified
persons, on the successful completion of a block-training
program for instructors, within a given discipline or core
study area. However the completion of an instructor’s
block program does not automatically qualify one to form
a member group. This can only be done after the De Bordes
Foundation has received a formal request and the principal
members of the Foundation have approved that request.Certification-

Grade Certification - can only be issued to registered
members of the nucleus or affiliated member groups who are
training within the core study areas of the following systems:

Awards – will be issued to attendees of short courses,
workshops or seminars
Uniforms/Attire-
Standardised attires will be made available to all groups
studying within the Foundation disciplines. All registered
Instructors will be expected to maintain, amongst other
things, a uniform look within their member groups.
Annual Events-
The principal member of a member group will be invited to
attend a six monthly master class at a location chosen by
the
DBFCS. Specifically aimed at the ongoing development of
the individual and group. He/she will have the opportunity
to be taught directly by
Maha Guru Richard Crabbe De Bordes
and a selected number of qualified instructors from the nucleus
of the DBFCS. The foundation will also host a number of
open doors seminars in chosen locations around the world.

Maha Guru Richard Crabbe De-Bordes
or Guru Besar Randolph Carthy can host an event in conjunction
with the principal of a member group. We recognize that
this type of event has a dual positive effect in terms
of our growth and development.
Costs-
All cost will be subject to change based on National currency.
How ever please feel free to use these figures as a guideline,
where possible.
• Student Grading Fee - $70
per two hour session
• Student insurance - to be
dealt with on a local and regional basis, however insurance
can be made available
via the Foundation upon request.
• Instructor/Group membership
- Current cost of membership of the De Bordes Foundation
is $250 annually. This includes
the instructor’s annual assessment fee. An instructor
is at liberty to charge a membership fee for students, how
ever this decision will be made locally or regionally
